Walloschke Oberflächentechnik GmbH (“Walloschke”) from Lindlar can draw on almost 60 years of experience in surface processing and finishing and is characterized by fully automated grinding, polishing and processing processes. The challenging economic situation and the tense situation in the automotive industry meant that Walloschke had to file for insolvency at the end of October. By order of 01.02.2025, the Cologne District Court opened insolvency proceedings against Walloschke's assets. Attorney Dr. Bero-Alexander Lau from the law firm White & Case LLP was appointed insolvency administrator.

As a first step, the team led by lawyer Dr. Lau succeeded in stabilizing and continuing business operations. In parallel, an investor process was initiated, which was managed by novaerion GmbH from Düsseldorf. After four months, an acquirer was found to take over Walloschke's business operations at the Lindlar site. The buyer is Weiz Industrie- und Robotertechnik from Overrath, which manufactures robotic, grinding and polishing systems. The established brand name Walloschke is retained and a large part of the workforce is taken over.

Dr. Lau explains: “We are very pleased that we were able to find a continuation solution for Walloschke Oberflächentechnik and saved the majority of jobs. The takeover of the company by Weiz, which specializes in plant engineering, expands the previous value chain and thus provides promising opportunities for further cooperation with customers and suppliers in the future, so that the company can look ahead with confidence. ”

Robert Neufeld, novaerion GmbH, adds: “In the current market environment, it is quite challenging to find good transaction solutions for companies. We are all the more pleased that we were able to quickly contribute to a good solution for everyone involved. We would like to thank the insolvency administration and management for their professional cooperation and wish the company and the acquirer every success in the future. ”
